DC Pie sounds like a pizza joint you’d find in our nation’s capital. However, it’s actually the initials of Dominic Cavagnuolo, owner of Lucali (a top 5 pizza spot in the country). Knowing this background, I expected great things, as I gave Lucali in Brooklyn a 9.2...Unfortunately, Miami just doesn’t have the same ingredients, but it’s still not bad by any means. Very light & crispy, perfect size for a personal pie. The cheese has a nice flavor and consistency, I just wish there was more of it. Plenty of Parmesan to go around to enhance the taste. The sauce is a little tangy and sweet, slightly above average, but the fresh basil definitely draws out the flavor of the sauce. The crust is big and crispy, but just a little too big. The crust should be smaller to allow for more cheese, sauce and dough. It’s definitely better than the majority of Florida pizza but doesn’t hold a candle to New York pies.
