Deschner's Pizza

Aaaah I don’t know what to say here. I’ve had Chicago deep dish with less cheese. To say it was a ridiculous waste of cheese would be an understatement. Add to the two pounds of cheese the extra thick cut pepperoni and all you have is a greasy mess. Maybe the sauce had a good flavor if you could find it under the grease. Not sure what they are aiming for here.

Let’s be clear: this is not an el presidente pie. Heavy. Very heavy. Good crust. Very nice sauce. So much cheese it’s insane. Thick pepperoni and tons of it. I’ve never had a pizza with more cheese. Stunningly good. Gets better with every bite. That’s a review.

I’m embarrassed to say I live in the same city as this pizza. The only reason it’s getting this high of a score is that they usually get the order right, and it’s not a chain. I’m trying to think of reasons I’d willingly order this pizza, and the only things that come to mind are forced suicide from a heart attack, you hate the people you’re ordering it for, or you need to feed your brat kid for a week, and you order them a large pepperoni pizza. I’d rather have a root canal than eat this pizza ever again.

People in Mansfield have told me this is the best pizza in town. Finally I tried it and I felt let down. The reason, I believe, people rate this pizza so high is because each pizza literally has five pounds of cheese and toppings on top of it. It is heavy. I was full after two square slices. However, the crust was bland. It was under baked. It wasn't raw. It just wasn't crispy and it just lacked flavor or something.
