Served Cardi B hot in 2-3 minutes (with the oven door wide open) with a hard West Side Ave crisp and a mild Communipaw flop.
First Bite Score: 6.1
The sauce is bland with an overpowering taste of the can it was in and has no tang, sweetness or life. The mozzarella is very poor quality and is scarcely placed. It’s soupy with zero salinity and no chew. The dough recipe is the best part of the slice. It is wonderfully thin and crunchy with great charred undercarriage. They surprisingly put garlic powder on the crust which I’ve never seen before.
Sub Score: 6.4
SAUCE: if better quality tomatoes are used and the sauce can be thinned out a bit while paying more attention to the flavor, this could be a low 7 slice.
MOZZARELLA: even if they don’t improve the quality they can at least put more that 17 strands of cheese on the slice. It’s very disappointing to eat soupy cheese.
DOUGH: put your hands in the air and step back!!! Touch nothing and do nothing. I would eat the dough plain!!! This is one of the best I’ve had.
Summary: the overall flavor is decent and you are left with a pleasant taste of garlic but that’s about it. The soupy cheese, flavorless sauce really subtracts from the entire experience. I’d eat it if it were given to me but I wouldn’t go and buy it. There are better in the area.
