Ernie's Pizzeria

Tried this spot yesterday, great pizza all around one of my favorites to be honest, great crisp, great flavor on both the cheese and the sauce. Overall 8.3 but very well could see why people would score higher!

Really wanted to go higher. Rich cheese blend, sauce a bit sweet, good undercarriage and crisp, edge is a little too puffy for my taste. Almost has party pizza vibes.

Carrie’s hesitation to leave the bowling alley allowed the pie to sit a little too long. Incomplete score

Best pizza in New Haven

Excellent tomato pie, my personal favorite in New Haven. Sauce is out of this world.

Order early! Friday night we waited 2 hours and 15 mins

My favorite pizza during my New Haven tour. The flavor and cheesiness was reminiscent of NY style while still getting that great New Haven crisp. The owner/chef was so kind! He makes every pizza and genuinely cares about the quality. When he saw I was doing a pizza crawl he came out of the kitchen to ask about the trip. You can’t beat that service!

Dave and everyone else had it rated perfectly. It was thin and crispy but also very greasy and floppy. The flavor of it was also very good.

WATCHED PORN WITHOUT MASTURBATING.

Char and crisp can’t be argued with. Good crust. A tad greasy. Good ingredients. Great story - the same chef makes every pizza, every day. Flavor is wonderful. Keep in mind that what I ordered was a medium and it was HUGE.

Ordered 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese… nice and thin with a good undercarriage. Can’t believe we were able to walk in and grab a seat with no wait 👍👍

Peter was OK. What is the best wasn’t the worst took forever to get it though

Something went wrong here. Took over an hour in a less than crowded restaurant to get us a medium sausage Apizza. Dryest crust and dark dark mootz, not good. I think they left it in the oven way too long and just decided to dump it on our table anyway. With the best in the country around the corner Ernie’s is off the list.

Perfect New Haven style pizza. Very cheesy great crisp

Very good sauce; fresh

Went there this afternoon and was blown away. Sally’s is my “gold standard” and when I saw this pizza I thought it was going to flop like crazy but it was nice and crispy. It was also not “heavy” either. Also, yes I should have taken a picture before I got to the last slice…

Not a bad slice at all, I have nothing bad to say about this place. The pizza is cooked well I wish the sauce packed more of a punch but overall this is a decent pizza.

Great bite, right amount of sauce and nice cheese finish. Very friendly family-owned place.

More flop than I expect from New Haven pizza but the flavor is on point. Crust is great.
