F&F Pizzeria

Dough done right - incredibly thoughtful, delicious pizza. Some of the best in Pittsburgh.

First pizza in a little while and it is a big one. This place has had so much hype since these people are coming from Brooklyn. Overall it was really good and really expensive. The sauce and cheese combo was phenomenal. I do feel like there was too much crust and it was a chore to finish a slice sometimes. It is deserving of some hype but not my favorite slice in the area.

Clam pie with red sauce. Insanely flavorful. Thin undercarriage, crust is fluffy and crisp. Not greasy at all. Perfect pie.

Perfect crust, perfect crisp.

Great pie. Char and undercarriage were on point. Would have been an 8.7 but the restaurant is in Mt. Lebanon and that place sucks.

I really wanted to like it as I’m visiting for the weekend; Unfortunately - very underwhelming and crust is intentionally Charred? Didn’t understand as flavor profile is affected by the level of burnt ness.. Sauce is nothing special and didn’t move me.. Mineo’s sauce for example has a much better tang..

Just a bit more well done than I prefer but still amazing. 8.1 score the place and service 9.4 vibes.

Drove an hour to this joint to see if the hype was real, and it turns out, not so much. I can’t tell what aesthetic this place is really going for, whether it’s fine dining or just a family pizza shop. But when we got there, we were told that a table had a 1 1/2-hour wait ahead. We decided to forgo that line and just get some slices. So let’s dive into the PROS and the CONS. PROS The pizza appears very appetizing and looks about as artisanal as you can get. The crust was cooked evenly throughout, besides the char spots that I believe enhance the flavor. The Partanna slice was probably the best flavor of the 3 slices I purchased (pep, cheese, and Partanna). The cheese was alright, but I can’t fairly review it on a slice that’s been sitting there, IMO. THE CONS The pizza was moderately floppy. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce; it wasn’t necessarily bad, but it kinda sat in the background while the cheese and dough did all the heavy lifting. Overall, it’s alright. I know when everyone heard about F&F coming to Pittsburgh, they all got excited for “true NY pizza,” but I believe there are many that do just as well, if not better, like Rockaway, Slice of NY, Slice on Broadway, or SliceHouse.
