I went a long way to have this pizza. Not very happy. I thought it would be better

I am not sure if my expectations are too high, or if the pizza was just mediocre. I did enjoy it, but it was not worth the extra trip to go here. If I lived in the neighborhood, there should be a good option. But if you were looking to drive here for this pizza, there just as good of places in every town in America

Very crispy, does have a char taste to it that isn’t bad at all but the sauce is a very subtle in flavor. Love the texture of this pie more than the taste.

Been waiting years to try out the original Frank Pepe’s of New Haven and it was everything I could have hoped for. I’ve been to several of the other locations and none can compare to the original. Pro tip: Get the original tomato pie. It’s absolute perfection in the form of a pizza. The sauce is to die for, perfect crunch with every bite, high quality ingredients. There’s absolutely nothing I would improve on this pie. I don’t care where you live-make the drive for this absolute masterpiece of a pizza.

I’ve herd Pepe’s was very inconsistent and it must be true. This pie was legit trash floppy, under cooked, sauce to cheese was all over off. I’ve had Pepe’s a handful of times a other locations and I’d say it would’ve been in the high 7’s low 8’s. Gotta grade on that day and this was very bad

Great crisp. Even in the center with toppings there was still crisp. The cheese towards the crust is slightly burnt, chefs kiss. The crust itself has the charred parts that really give the coal fired taste. Tomato sauce was fresh and the right amount of sweetness. Everything I look for in a pizza

did not expect such a pleasant taste super satisfying crunch doughy but fluffy to balance it out charcoal crust, can’t beat it. amazing did not expect the clam to be as good as it is. 8.7 for the clam.

Frank Pepe’s is the best New Haven has to offer, full stop. As close to a traditional pie with the added bonus of perfect charcoal flavor and crust texture. Make this your first and/or only stop in New Haven.

Next stop, Frank Pepe’s. Very well cooked all around, loved the cheese and I thought the sauce could have branched out a little more but overall very good. The history of the classic new haven pizza means a lot here

Way better than the last time I had it. That time it was takeout during the peak of covid, this time I had it fresh at the restaurant. Half Original Tomato Pie, half cheese. The tomato pie 🤤🤤🤤 worth the hype.
