Pizza Review
This is what I call a “Broadway Pie.” At $21, this is high-end theater district prices for dollar slice quality pizza. Thick, doughy and soft…it has all the attributes of a dollar slice. The sauce has decent flavor, somewhat zesty but extremely acidic. Typical dollar slice textured cheese, a semi-creamy melted blend just a tad above generic. The crust is slightly crispy, but not enough to make up for the overall softness of the entire pizza. The difference between a whole pie and a slice is enormous. A slice is reheated, generating a “fake crisp,” which faked out Portnoy into giving this an 8.1; but a whole pie comes out fresh and much softer. It’s not bad but definitely not worth going out of your way for as that inflated score would suggest. Don’t be fooled by this expensive pizza with cheap ingredients.
