So, I’ve been to the other Gennaros, was it Clifton Park? Saratoga Springs? Can’t remember. Anyway, that Genneros served me burnt garbage. The slices I got today were much better. If your jam is thin and crispy with some char, this is it. Although the char is mostly on the outer crust because it’s so darn thin it burns. It actually was slightly unpleasant at times around the outer edge. The dough is put through a rolling machine. It presses all the air out of it leaving a very thin dough but lacking character. And lacking a little thickness on the outer rim which would help battle the over-charring in my opinion. I had a slice of margherita and a slice of plain cheese. I’d rate them both the same but maybe giving some bites of the margherita an edge because the sauce was so darn good, but other bites where no acid or cheese was on the dough, was burnt. I like a well-done pizza but when something this thin gets burnt, it’s nothing but char so it’s unpleasant. However I think if you came here and ordered a fresh pie it’d be pretty darn tasty. The reheat might hurt these slices.
