Just like Clara Peller asked “Where’s the beef?” in that old Wendy’s ad campaign, I’m asking “Where’s the sauce?” This is called “desert pizza” cause it’s as dry as they come. Aside from the non-existent sauce, the cheese is boringly generic and way too thick. While the dough and crust have decent crisp, they’re basically tasteless. When you add a grease slick dripping from every slice on top of everything else, this is about as bad a pie as you will find in Hoboken. I hate killing a pizza joint like this but I’m just giving an honest review. Maybe it’s decent “drunk pizza” but stay away if you’re looking for a sober slice.

Excellent slice , great flop and Perfect combo of grease and cheese !

The cheese to sauce ratio is about 95 to 5. You could barely taste the sauce in this cheesy slice. Pretty greasy, little flavor but was cooked well.

OK so this is Giovannis on Pizza Road in Hoboken. Washington Street has a wide selection of pizzerias to choose from so competition is steep. As for the pizza it was definitely a solid slice. Nothing to do back flips over but if you’re in the area you can definitely pick one up and won’t regret of your life decisions to that point. They present a nice thin crust but the finished product is a little doughy. The crust has potential if they can figure out how to get the oven hotter or to cook it a little longer possibly. My other Biggest issue is where is the sauce? Why are these pizzeria scared to put sauce on the pizza. That’s where all your flavor and tang comes from. If you don’t put it on you’re missing the point of a pizza. The little bit of sauce that was on there seem to taste pretty good but you wouldn’t know because they don’t give you enough to let your palette decide. The cheese was definitely above average and was laid out across the slice very well. So it’s a 6.3 for me not the worst in the world and most certainly not the best but if you’re standing in front of the shop and are in the mood for something by all means go for it But it won’t change your life

I was a bit surprised. It's a really good slice. I think this is my new go to neighborhood spot. Hot, crispy, good dough, tangy sauce, not too greasy. Will come back for this one.
