One of the best thin crust pizzas we have eaten. Extremely flavorful, sauce is excellent and pizza was cooked perfect. Love the style and cheese.

Feel like this place could have so much more potential. It’s a good Jersey spot and I see the Joe and Pat’s influence, but it just falls short of a home run pizzeria.

Formerly Ciro’s Pizza Cafe, but maintained the same ownership since 2011 through the name change to Grana. Evidently, they have ties to Joe & Pat’s on Staten Island, with similar-looking old school, thin crust style pies, but worlds apart in taste. Also very aesthetically similar to L’Arte Della Pizza in Brooklyn, and about on par taste-wise as well. The sauce consists of very sweet crushed red tomatoes but lacks zest & tang, actually coming off rather tart, with the sweetness being neutralized by the sprinkled parmigiana. The fresh mozzarella is thinly sliced, mildly creamy with a decently melty consistency but a little splotchy, lacking in some areas of the pie. The dough is fairly firm and floury, not really crispy, more hardened than crunchy, and seemingly undercooked but it’s not, there’s just no char. The crust is reasonably crispy, thin & light, quite possibly the best part of the pie. I’m not sure what it is, but the overall taste just seems off; I feel like it should be more delicious than it is. Perhaps the sauce needs a bit more spice and the dusting of Parmesan cheese should be optional. It’s still a pretty good pie, with a terrific style that just kind of slightly misses the mark. Uniquely flavored, it’s pizza that’s worth a try but I can’t say it’s a travel pie of more than 30 minutes.

Great Cheese slice but Margarita slice definetly 8.4 .Nice thin crust , great sauce .Definetly recommend to try it out .

Gonna stick with a 7.7 I really wanted to go up a whole point because of the size of the freakin’ calzone, but I think overall we can stick with 7.7, don’t wanna show up the big guy. Chicken Caesar wrap was on point, good dressing to chicken/lettuce ratio and the whole wheat wrap was very fresh. Vodka pie was very good, not much else to say on that. 🤙🏻

Solid pie, a perfect blend of sauce and cheese, a little crunch to the bite, thin, light, and tasty. Cant go wrong.

Called and ordered a large plain, was told to come in 30-40 minutes to pick it up. Showed up in 35 minutes and they acted like I never called and proceeded to try and charge me for the pie that I had to wait another 30 minutes for because they never put the first order in. 0.0

Very pleasantly surprised! Not my style at all cause I like cheese so I wasn’t expecting to give a score, then I took a bite and was impressed. Highly recommend it

Sauce was flavorful but I felt it didn’t mix enough with the cheese. The cheese and sauce were very segregated from one another. Flavor was redeeming. Debated a 7.5-7.8 range but gave them benefit of the doubt since it was nice and thin.

Rating the plain slice here... which is good news for fans of higher scores. This place has Staten Island roots and strongly resembles the pies from Joe & Pat’s. Good crust, tasty sauce. Muzz slides off and burns your lips off tho. The square looks great but was kinda nasty.

OK quarantine pizza review time here in Matawan New Jersey at grana Pizza Café, formally the home of Ciro’s Made famous in Staten Island over in Huguenot . A little backstory Ciros has ties to Joe and Pat’s of Staten Island which is probably top 10 pizza in the entire country. This place although the name is different and has some similar styles to that type of pizza. Ultra thin crust, tangy sauce, globs of Cheese scattered about the pizza and usually cooked well done. So I have to say I was quite impressed but I will say definitely not on the level of Ciros or a Joe and Pat‘s. She’s had an amazing flavor, I love the thin crust but this particular slice was a tad bit undercooked towards the middle. The sauce was definitely tangy but a little tart. But overall a real good slice. It’s almost like this Guy may have worked for Ciro’s or Joe and Pat‘s and try to mimic what made them famous. Either way I’m pretty impressed. They earned a little brownie points when I walked in and ordered only a regular slice and the pizza maker said just throw another one in for him so two for the price of one can’t beat that. I’m going 7.6 on the review. If they were to crunched up the middle of the dough a little more I definitely would’ve rated higher. That’s the review
