The sign out front says “under new ownership;” so I’m not sure if this pizza used to be better or worse but their slogan on their main sign says: “A Taste of Brooklyn,” which I can assure you, this is not. I don’t know what part of Brooklyn they’re referring to but this is nothing more than generic Central New Jersey football pizza at the tip of the Jersey Shore. The dough is rather soft, bland & basic with a lightly charred & firm undercarriage, despite zero crisp. Equally soft & doughy, the crust is fairly pedestrian with some areas leaning towards crunchy but very minimally. A subpar shredded mozzarella blend, the cheese is a cheap grease-inducing melty mess, soaked in oil, rendering a super salty taste. Permeating throughout the pie, the grease also penetrates the sauce, which is hardly detectable & essentially M.I.A. Aside from being barely visible near the crust, the sauce is a flavorless, watery conglomerate of salty oil & unseasoned red tomatoes, lacking sweetness, volume & personality. Overall, this is a painfully plain combination of dough, cheese & grease, forming a well-below-average, completely forgettable Mid-Jersey football pizza.
