Joanie's Pizza

Still prefer dominos, I think dominos has the most authentic Italian pizza, so dominos is always a baseline for me. I, most of the time, give dominos a 10/10. However, this pizza is very good! It has a nice airy crust, chewy from the bread flour that they use, cheese remains gooey without seizing up. Very crispy and thin, sauce tastes great. Would definitely come again, Joanie really knows how to work it.

I will drive at least a half hour for this pizza. Outstanding!

Best thing I ate today. Crispy, crunchy char. Delicious personable sauce. In my top 10 anywhere. Wish there were somewhere to sit here or nearby. Good malted chocolate chip cookies too

I didn’t mind the sprinkled cheese I thought it was good. Personally I wish the pizza was a little cheesier and the sauce a tad sweeter. But still a solid pizza and gonna be my go to in Chelmsford.

It definitely holds up. The crust is the star, but it’s all great. Sauce is great, not too much cheese, good char but not overdone. Quintessential thin crust pizza. Pepperoni is probably 8.5 even.

Cheese is an 8.7, pepperoni is a 9.2

What better way to return to the one bite ap than one of the best pizzas in the North East!!! For me there’s no such thing as out of reach and after some impulsive thinking there’s no better place I could think of for my thanksgiving special than Joanie’s. Waging war through nearly 6 hours of traffic was totally worth it as you can see just how sexy a pie this is. Absolutely cooked perfect well done blackened on the edges and a leopard pattern underneath, the pie is intensely crispy front to back and nicely airy despite being pretty thin. The sauce has a very Sally’s sweetness to it with the right amount of flavorful cheese and unlike prez I love a dusting of parm on my pizzas for that electric bite. Obviously the only thing that could make this pie better is a table to sit and eat at but thankfully I was able to take a quick snap of it before deleting it out the trunk of my car. Whats most impressive about this pie is how it retained its heat eating it outside on a 40 degree day till the last slice with major damage to the roof of my mouth. This place has been absolute chaos since the review and the couple that own and run it were absolutely killing in there and we’re still extremely friendly with everyone walking through the doors a day before the big holiday. So far I’ve only been to a few spots in Mass but this is no doubt the best I’ve tried in the state and an all time great that feels like a cross between Sally’s, Chrissy’s and Santillo’s. Their menu is on a construction paper that looks like it’s written daily which just jacks up the vibes even higher, no doubt a destination spot from anywere that is must try before you die. Tasty sauce, zero flop. Crunchy crust. Delicious and worth the drive. Also had a meatball and ricotta that was incredible! This is one of my faves in the area.

Yep! One bite audinn knows the rules. HOLY. Wow. Incredible crisp and the flavor is inside. Not even auDinnBRUH!u can describe how much he wants to try this. What a missed opportunity he took as he drove by here for 99's restaurant. BUT HERE I AM. Making it up for him. It was nothing but worth it. Legendary New York style slice with immense crunch, almost reminding me of Sally's Apizza in woburn which is a few towns over, which I have as an 8.7 but can freaking rate it because this dumbass app doesn't have it registered. How stupid do you have to be to have every single Lil Caesars but not a Sally's, a top 5 slice of Massachusetts. ANYWAYS, 8.6 is a legendary score for this legendary slice, so good and you need to try it. Crispy compliments the great cheese and flavorful sauce. AUDINN OUT, THATS A REVIEW.

Really amazing solid pizza. Great crust, bottom, and consistency. Only reserve is that the flavor was lacking maybe a little bit but it still was very delicious. Coming off Santarpio’s my bar was high - so that could have to do with it. Still would 100% come back.

The crust is the star of the show. Thin, light, and crispy all at the same time. Sauce was good. Strong parm/pecorino flavors.

This pie was a solid 9.0 all day long!!! There was no trouble finishing this pie between two people. The crunch, the dough the sauce everything came together beautifully will be back to try more than just the cheese.

A little bit overhyped, but still a very good choice for pizza night. Definitely prefer the cheese pizza over the pepperoni. Wish this spot wasn’t so far out from everything. Floppier than expected, but decent flavor. Little bit more generic than I thought it would be. I wouldn’t travel across the country just for this, like we did, unless you had time to test your curiosity.
