Joes Pizza! A legendary establishment not only in New York City, but in the entire pizza game, period. Rolling up to this spot was fantastic, people were waking by with slices, and boxes full of pizza from Joes. There was a small crowd waiting to get in, a very nice homeless man directing people into Joes, into the place next door, to the bodega down the street - it was a great NYC scene.
Now for the pizza - it was absolutely fantastic! The crust was super thin, had a solid crisp, almost zero flop. There was a nice amount of cheese and it was full of flavor (I have to say I’m genuinely surprised by the amount of pizza places I try that have cheese with little to no flavor) The sauce was probably my favorite part of the pizza - loaded with flavor and it really enhances the overall pizza experience. The pepperoni had great flavor and didn’t leave too much grease on the pizza. We also tried the fresh mozz - it’s fantastic!! This was the first time I’ve had a cheese slice of pizza that I enjoyed more than the pepperoni slice (I always get two - cheese and pepperoni)
Bottom line is, you need to try Joe’s! The pizza is spectacular and the overall experience of being there on that corner can’t be beat!
