La Piazza Pizzeria Restaurant

This slice looks amazing, but first impression isn’t everything. The undercarriage was the best part. It was a slice with way too much cheese to really notice anything else. Plus it had a very dry crust. Just some execution flaws because what I got from the sauce towards the end seemed good, but too cheese forward and oily.

Soft, cheesy, could use slightly less tomato but perfect soft crunch and great flavor

Good plain slice. Buffalo chicken slice was near-perfect, but there just wasn’t enough buffalo sauce.

Always reliable. Buffalo chicken pie is the best but cant go wrong with any pie here. Ask for it well done

This place was good I got a buffalo chicken slice that was a litttle better than the regular slice I gave the buffalo chicken an 8.4. Pretty good pizza

This place gets it done, never get a regular slice, always a buff chick, best on the island with their buff chick, this slice is like a cracker, nice and thin, Definitely one of the best on the island

I've been going to this place for many years and have been completely underwhelmed by their pizza by the slice. Most of the time the pizza has been pre-cooked and left out for hours only to be cursorily reheated with zero emphasis on the word "heated" because it usually comes out of the re-not-heated process a soggy, plastered, dry, tepid, tasteless mess. That is not to be confused with ordering a whole pie straight out of the oven and eating it on site which elevates the score to maybe a 6.5. The place has an overblown reputation for pizza. Their cooked food entrees are super expensive but the portions are generous and the food is not bad. But if you are going to this place for a single slice or two of pizza (or even for a pie) you should move on to something else. They got too big for their britches and are overly confident that they can sell any pizza that they put under their counter for hours on end. Pass.

Recently moved to the neighborhood and discovered a number of pizzerias here in Merrick. The one place I keep finding myself returning to is La Piazza in Merrick. I’ve had their regular slices, Sicilian slices, grandma slices and most recently their personal Buffalo pizza. Which I heard they are known for. Let me tell you, it did. It disappoint. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!

Regular: nice crunch to the crust cheese is average and sauce is bland. 6.8 Grandma: again good crunch and dough tastes well, it a little greasy for a grandma. They use way to much garlic in the sauce 7.1
