The square pie rocks madone

Spectacular square pizza. Sauce is to die for and crust is crispy and butter. Worth the trip. One complaint - no slices other than cheese? Need to get an entire pie to try a topping kinda crazy to me. Nevertheless, one of the best squares in the city for sure.

Not worth the hype. I get the old school vibe, but the grandma slice is just is just bread with minimal cheese and sauce (sauce is actually very good). The neighborhood is a dump and the place is dirty.

The Square slice

We recently have gotten the chance to taste and experience the famous L&B Spumoni Gardens. This original, one of a kind, upside down style pizza was amazing!!! Starting with that delicious quintessential Brooklyn sauce and the fresh full flavored mozzarella that you know they make in the back. One of us topped it with about a half a cup of parmesan 😂… and, oh that crispy yet light on its’ toes crust. This is absolutely a must try when you’re in the neighborhood. #pizzamooners

Outstanding slice. I got here within 10 minutes of when they opened. I am partial to a square slice over a round pie slice. Great crisp on the bottom and nice and soft in the middle. The sauce is tasty and even though there's not a crazy amount of cheese, what was there was nice.

Exactly what I needed it to be. The Sicilian slice hit, with all the right ratios.

“Upside down” pizza is what we were told it’s called. It was very good and the last stop of our food tour from Famous Fat Dave. Chase it down with some spumoni ice cream.

Sauce and chesse goes great, crust is not too crunchy which is great, no flop it is iconic maybe could’ve used slightly less sauce but the flavors went extremely well. Lived up to the hype.

I'm here at one of the most reviewed and talked about places in all of New York. 1. They have been open since 1939. I have review many places that have lasted 70 plus years. Although they all were good, sometimes they don't always compare with the dough techniques of the more modern spots. 2. I rated them high, mostly on their fabulous thick and flavorful sauce they use. They sprinkle a little parmesan on top, which is usually not a good thing, but it was decent this time. 3. Bonus review that I also had; Regular slice ( good but dough was a bit soggy) 7.4 Spumoni 9.4

You can’t beat the upside down. They invented it and it’s no surprise theirs is the best

Gave it a shot. I’d say it’s pretty good Brooklyn style upside down crust has a little chew. Pretty decent sauce on it and tasty cheese like a Sicilian. Theres still a lot of other squares I’d prefer and I personally think Sicilian slices are better but to each their own
