Lazzara's Pizza Cafe

Feel like this 9.3 is the least celebrated of spots that have gotten 9+. And that lack of celebration of Lazzara is telling, as is the score on the app. I respect the uniqueness of this pizza. It's not like anything else I've had. It's a thin pan pizza with a high edge crust like a grandma but lighter with a unique sauce. King Umberto is the closest thing I can relate it to but that crust is more like an normal round pie crust, which I like better. Definitely a simmered and spiced, sauce here. I tend not to like that on pizza because simmering cuts out a lot of the acidity and it ends up tasting like a pasta sauce. That's what happened here. But it's not an Achilles's heel, for me. The crust is somewhere between thin crust and pan style. I'd prefer if it were more like a square cut thin with no high crust. Nice cheese to sauce ratio. Nothing big to complain about. Just not super up my alley, but good.
