heard from a friend that Lione's was better at pizza and cheese steak than my recommendations. Well, I was underwhelmed. The pizza was hot, cheesy, and looked good, but the sauce was weak, the crust was doughy, and the cheese was weak for being a mozzarella. My mind went straight to comparing it to chain store pizza like Domino's or Season's. That's either very good for them, but not good for Lione's. At over $20 for a plain pie, you do the math.
I ordered a large cheese steak. Grilled onion and a seeded roll were both up charges. Brought the sandwich to close to $20 with tax. At that price compared to $9-10 cheese steaks in the area I expected a monster sandwich. Look at the pictures... what happened to the roll? Was it gutted? Where was the size? Okay, must be tasty right? The meat was so chopped up I probably could have given it to our baby as baby food. Flavor was good, but not at that price.
Where does all that extra price go? Lots of employees standing around. Lots of pretty self promoting sales signs.
Nice place.
