I was in complete awe when I ate this pizza. I have had hundreds of slices over the years, and this is the best I have ever had. I never thought a pie could be better than DiFara in Midwood, but this some how tops that. The crust is the best on Earth, and I mean that sincerely. Very thin and crispy, and it holds very well altogether. Sauce is amazing, and you can taste that great tomato flavor unlike many places. They use three cheeses on their pies and is the best cheese I've ever had on pizza. The best part of this pie is the incredible balance of the ingredients. Sauce, cheese, dough, and basil all come together to make the best flavor I have ever had in my life, and they are all balanced to perfection. I gave DiFara a 9.5 and this Lucali pie is definitely worth a 9.6. If you are a pizza guy, this is the pie that you MUST try no matter where you live. Make the trip, and try this pizza as soon as you can, because you are missing out.

Awesome pizza! Ordered half cheese half pepperoni. Crust and sauce were perfect. Get in line by 3pm to get a reservation.

Lived up to the hype. Best sauce I may have ever had, the crust is just ridiculous, and despite some minor flop, it’s top 2 all time that I’ve had in terms of taste. I will say, the pepperoni pizza and the calzone are just absolutely unreal- a wild overall top scale experience.. arguably both better than the cheese pie. But overall.. in Dave’s words.. it is absolutely in the conversation (for the best pizza out there).

Either I had an off night or the Pizza had an off night. I’m definitely gonna go back to try it again. I'm my opinion it was lacking something. The cheese and Cross were very good. Do I think it lived up to the hype. In my opinion. No but I will go back to try it again.

I’ve probably ate 13 different pizzas in the last week, and out of all of them this was the one I looked forward to eating the most, but I cannot understand how this was rated so highly. It was mediocre compared to some of the other top places I went to. The ingredients were fresh but it was a floppy mess and the cheese and toppings slid right off of it. Definitely could have been firmer. Highly underwhelming compared to what I was expecting. I was hoping to have my dick blown off and leaving disappointed it didn’t happen.

Lucky to get in a phone order this evening. Couldn’t leave NY without trying this and thank goodness I didn’t. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio and the crust was one of the best I’ve ever had. Do not miss out on this gem.

it’s really good. do i think the scoring here is a little influenced by the hype, a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy? yes does the ambiance and waiting investment impact the ratings? yes still, it’s very good. perhaps slightly overcheesed

Simply amazing. Best pizza I’ve ever had, worth the wait. Arrived at 4:30 to get on list, in the door and seated at 5:00 and was eating by 5:30.

Ridiculous system: cash only, no menus, have put your name and number down hours before your time slot but they don’t call you when the table is ready, so you may have to wait outside in the freezing cold for like a half an hour on top of all of that. That being said, the pizza itself is the best place in NY that is still currently open. The sauce is the star of the show. Could have slightly less flop, slightly more flavor with the base itself, and all around it could be a little tighter. It is tremendous pizza though
