Thank you to the pandemic for giving me the opportunity to try this. Especially running down a couple blocks looking for an ATM. Worth the wait..

Great crisp thin crust. Top-notch pizza all around. I still don’t think it’s worth the insane line and wait, but it was worth a 2 mile walk on a gorgeous day during quarantine.

Decided to step out of my house today during the quarantine/lockdown in NYC. Thankfully Lucali was open for takeout only today from 1-4. Typically, Lucali has a line that wraps around the block. Today, I got there about 5 minutes before they opened and only a handful of people gathered (but maintained appropriate social distancing protocol!). They took my order of 2 cheese pies and they were ready in about 10 minutes. First one's out of the oven! I immediately returned to my car and dug right in. I was surprised how light the pies were (in a good way). The pizza was molten hot lava at that point. Even still, the pizza looked too amazing to wait. I could immediately taste how fresh the ingredients were. I ate a slice and then drove back home to Queens. When I got home, the pizza wasn't super hot anymore. The cheese and sauce settled a bit. I think it actually tasted better once everything cools down some. The big star here is the crust. There is a bit of char and its perfectly crispy. When I ate the pizza right out of the oven there was a lot of soupiness and flop, but once it settled it was perfect. Really love the sharpness of the parm and freshness of the basil. Easily 9+ The situation the world is in right now is anything but perfect. But I'm really happy I had the opportunity to try Lucali and also support a small business. If you have the chance, check it out. It lives up to the hype.

Amazing pie. Top notch crust. Don't hurt me, but I wish their was more sauce flavor.

Fucking amazing. Nothing better than the fresh pizza and bringing your own bottle of wine.

Advisory: You must get there before 4pm, to wait in line. On a weekend? Get there before 3pm Names are taken at 5pm. First seating is @ 545pm. Only 30 seats per block Cash Only BYOB Now that the advisory portion of this review is complete onto the menu... Your choices are simple, pizza or calzone. We went with a plain, & pepperoni with hot h sweet peppers. The pepperoni was high quality and you can taste it. Peppers tossed in nicely throughout the pie. Sauce - This pie doesn’t have that much sauce, in fact I would call it “light sauce” compared to most. Cheese - Super fresh, some of the freshest ever, evenly distributed. Then they hit it with some Pecorino for a finishing touch Crust - This is where the pie standouts. It’s not your traditional style, nor is it full blown Neapolitan. It’s a combo of both. It actually “cracks”!! Basil- Yes, this pie has a little more basil 🌿 then we are used to. The Basil POPS! *The ambience is nice, story is, the place is an old time candy shop, blaring Motown tunes while you eat by candlelight 9.1 put it in the books

Best slice I’ve ever had. Exceptional sauce, cheese, and crust. Perfectly balanced

Best pizza in the city. Worth the wait. Not just for the pizza, but it’s a really cool place. Staff are great. Bring your own drink... What more could you want?!
