Luna Woodfired Pizza

Went back to Luna a second time to try the Detroit style (Luna Special - Mozzarella & pecorino cheese, sausage, pepperoni, onions, peppers, mushrooms) I'm a big fan of the thin crust and Luna's knocks it outta the park. Once in a while go for something a little thicker and this Detroit pie gets it done. What robust freshness from the tomato sauce and all the other toppings are quality perfection

Outstanding pizza. No flop at all. Not greasy in the least. Light and super tasty.

Closest of “Three Kings of Pizza” to me ( Christo’s (Wallingford) , fuoco (Cheshire). We got bacon which was a GREAT choice , only a couple tables which is too bad because this kind of thin char pizza should be eaten as quick out of the wood fired oven as possible (without burning mouth). Great undercarriage, no criticism at all. I will go again soon! Worth the hype.

Another solid pie from the family. Pepperoni had a little spice to it. But perfect crisp and zero flop. Mozzarella was good. Low 8s all around on this visit.

Not for me. Granted - I ordered the New Haven - didn’t realize there would be like NO cheese on it 🤣 ..flavors decent - which is why I even gave it the extra point - and the crisp is on point - but overall too “tomatoey” and too thin. I also didn’t like the smell of it in the car. Not for me.

Very good pie. Right amount of char. This is what CT pizza is all about.

Great pizza but I cannot go over 8.0 like Dave did. Great crust that was thin, crispy, and just enough char. My two criticisms are it needed a little more cheese and sauce. The lack of each left me wanting a little bit more, but definitely worth the trip.

Mushroom onion slice. Carmelized onions were delicious. Sauce was fresh. Pizza was ready quick. They were working hard in there getting pizzas out. Not like some of these other places that can't get a pizza out for hours. Maybe because of the toppings, but I was expecting more crisp. I will be back.
