Pizza Review
Located in Washington Commons, this modern pizzeria serves Jersey Shore strip mall football pizza. Deceptively thick, the pie looks thinnish but the dough & cheese are surprisingly heavy. Despite a relatively firm undercarriage, the dough is mostly soft without any crisp or crunch, aside from the modestly crunchy crust. Average-tasting at best, this is middle-of-the-road, typical & traditional beach pizza dough. Unappealingly thick & clumpy, the shredded mozzarella cheese is not melted thoroughly, lacking creaminess & oozy, gooey consistency. With painfully pedestrian flavor, as well as a subpar salty quality, the taste of the mozz is nearly as disappointing as the clumped texture, dragging down the overall score. Not super sweet, but a moderately detectable amount, the sauce has very nice flavor, with some decent seasoning & kick. However, the sauce possesses an acidic factor that also hinders the rating of this pie. All in all, this is about what you would expect from generic Jersey Shore boardwalk pizza; but I was hoping for better from this little Italian eatery. Though not terrible, this pie is pretty much on-par with the other somewhat substandard Cape May football pizza.
