Char and sauce very good like Sally’s but good in a different way. But also like Sally’s too much flop on the first half of the slice keeps it out of the 9’s. Now bonus score for The Italian Bomb pie that is a 9.3!!!!!!! That was awesome!

A good step above the west coast. First stop on our holy trinity tour. Good pepperoni - also went with the eggplant - which is a parm style - very nice.

Modern is my choice for #1 overall New Haven’t apizza joint. Has a whole lot of char on the bottom from the oil-fired oven. Best cheese of any of the heavy hitters. Sausage is incredible much like Zuppardi’s. The muzz is great as well.

Very cheesy and delicious. A little on the greasy side could have been cooked for a few more minutes but it was good. Definitely worth the trip.

Mozzarella here was easily the best by far out of the holy trinity of places. Franks has the best crust, sally has the best sauce, and Modern has the best cheese all around. This one wins.

Got the traditional mozzarella. Very good pie, tastes like they used part skim cheese not as flavorful as whole milk so a little knock there. Dough is great and baked to a perfect new haven style
