Mr Sammy's Pizza

I left this review to offset the two morons who can’t judge pizza. A 6.4 and a 5.8. Goofballs.

Came to Florida to escape the upstate New York winter for a couple days. Hopped on the one bite app to see what was around and mr Sammy’s New York style pizza popped up at a 7.1 score so figured it was worth a stop. As I walked in I was emersed in New York sorts memorabilia and Italian accents echoed through out the building. Booth seating side also a bar side with 3 good commercial beers on tap. I also enjoyed the stickers on the fridge that read let’s go Brandon and trump 2024. A nice women took my order and as she grabbed my slice to put it in the over several kids from the local school across the street came in to grab an after school snack which is always a good sign. As my slice warmed Sammy came out from the back with a gold Italian horn chain around his neck and immediately I was in deep conversation. Sammy is a Stamford Connecticut transplant and as we all know on the one bite app the pizza capital of the world. He robbed 26 banks in 39 days to get down here and start up. Also ran a youth ministry for 9 years. Great guy great story and a slice that looked promising. Slice was in the case so had been sitting. Good flavor great crust with a hint of flour on the bottom. Would like to try a fresh pie. Worth the visit great story great owner that works hard to has what he has. Also would like to mention as I took the slice outside to write the review a car went by and the driver yelled out the window that’s a big slice of pizza bro! Great experience great story great owner great slice. Will be back for more talk with Sammy.

Wow!! I finally found a pizza worth traveling for in Highlands County. Sammy himself made my pie and was absolutely amazing!! Zero Flop, beautiful under carriage, sauce and cheese combo perfect!! Friendly staff and an awesome vibe about the place. Beer was ice cold too!! “That’s a Review “

Quite surprised. Cooked perfectly crispy/well done. No flop and had a decent amount of cheese. Crust was thin and crunchy. Sauce could have more taste, which ultimately killed the points…including leaving the slice too dry towards the end. Atmosphere…outstanding. A gun loving, NY yankee zone that believes Hillary should be in jail.

Solid slice. Nothing special to it.

Very decent slice Frankie, hardly any flop with a good crisp on the crust.... would like if he were a little more heavy on the sauce...great blend of cheeses but just not enough of that sauce to take it to the eights... that’s a review

Pretty good slice of pizza. Not greasy and the owner is the BEST. You come for the pizza and stay for the one liners and roast sessions.

Alright Frankie, everyone here in Florida brags about their NY Style pizza and this place doesn’t miss the mark by much. Descent slice for a small town in the center of the state.
