Pizza Review
Best pizza I’ve ever had in my life, I don’t normally get plain cheese pizza but this was so good it didn’t need anything else! The crunch sauce and cheese were all on point! My little boy couldn’t get enough of it and almost got choked because he was eating it so fast! My husband started talking to the table beside us, they grew up in New Haven CT and when she was a girl would wait in line at frank Pepe’s for a long time in the snow and refuse to get out of line. She likes this pizza better than anything in New Haven. Told us stories about Frank Pepe that apparently the owner was allergic to tomatoes so he invented a clam pizza sauce so he could eat his own pizza. In a similar way the cook at this restaurant is allergic to gluten. If I had to be really nit picky the oven is a gas oven so there isn’t much Smokiness on the crust. But the oven is dialed in and the crunch is perfect. We did eat in the restaurant right out of the oven so the pizza didn’t lose any crisp in the cardboard box.
