Outstanding Pizza. This is my first time trying this style and it did not disappoint. I was thoroughly impressed with the crust and crisp on this pizza. Sauce was excellent.

Half sausage half Pepperoni. Nice and crisp. Sauce was fresh. They serve slices at lunch time for 2.75. Nice and big.

I dunno. I tried so hard to love this but I couldn’t. Sorry. I respect the history (2nd oldest pizza place in the United States) and their dedication to their original way of making it but this pizza wasn’t my style at all. An upside down pizza starting with the dough, toppings (pepperoni, in this case), cheese and then the sauce and topped with Parmesan. Dough was way too hard (could have chipped a tooth biting into this), the sauce was too salty for my liking and reminded me more of a pasta sauce and this got cold rather quickly. Oh! I talked to a local who said they switched from fresh dough to pre-baked shells and quality just hasn’t been the same since. Not sure when this happened, but I can absolutely see this being a lot better with a fresher dough. I still don’t think I’d be crazy about this sauce, though. They’ve been in business for over 100 years so they’re obviously doing something right and I don’t want to trash a pizza just because it wasn’t my preference. I hope everyone likes this but I didn’t.

Classic Utica ny upside down pizza, good sauce but would prefer it to be a little tighter but good crisp

Super crunchy crust sauce didn’t have much flavor good cheese and pepperoni sausage was a patty the size of the pizza

Brownie points for being the second oldest pizza place in America. Other than that nothing special.

If you’re in Utica you have to go to this place. Try the sausage pizza, you won’t regret it. Bonus review: chicken riggies 7.9

Very popular place. Thin, "bakery" type square cuts. Not your true pizza. Not sure why its so popular. Wasnt very good. Tangy sauce, powdered Parmigiano sprinkled all over a very saucy tray. Similar to Chef Boy R Dee box.

The pans the cook the pizza on are seasoned over 100 years. I know you like just cheese on your pie Dave, Next time you at a SU men’s basketball game hit me up and we ‘ll go have a large pie with sausage and pepperoni, never greasy just gotta ask for a little extra sauce .

First upside down pizza !

A lot of hype but not very good.

Stopped off while traveling home on a long trip because only 8+ Dave pizza on the route. Never had an upside down style pizza before, not my preference. But have to say sauce is 9/10. Love the history of the place, plus close to highway. Score is based on pizza only.

Unique pie, sauce is superb 👌

I badly wanted to like this but it’s just not that good. The sauce was nice, the cheese was fine but truthfully a little strange and it peeled right off the pizza. The crust tasted like Ellio’s. The pizza tasted like if you went to the Ellio’s factory and had them make you a fresh pie. If this was my local spot and i never left my hometown I’d probably think it was the best thing on earth

I ordered this upside down sausage pizza and the taste, aroma, and texture was fabulous! Not very crunchy but not doughy either. This is one of many pizzerias in Central New York that specializes in the upside down square Sicilian style pie. I grew up in Utica NY on this style of pizza. Neopolitan pizza takes a back seat to this one every time for me! 😋
