Thick, doughy, heavy and filling football pizza, this is one weighty pie. With thick dough, heavy cheese and hearty sauce, each slice is extremely substantial in volume. Despite excess everything, this is a very tasty pizza pie. While the dough is a little too thick, it’s also super soft with no crisp. Even though the undercarriage is fairly firm, the pie lacks crunch and the crust is doughy to boot. On the bright side, the cheese is oozy, gooey and melty…a delectably creamy blend. The cheese has a fresh mozzarella taste and terrific molten lava texture. If this isn’t Grande mozz, they’re using a similar top quality shredded blend. The grease is minimal so drippage isn’t even an issue. The co-star of the pie is the sauce: sweet, zesty, tangy, bursting with fresh flavor. A delicious mixture of tomato sauce and spices, it’s hearty and tremendously tasty. On a thinner & crispier pie, this combination of cheese and sauce could elevate the score into the 8s for sure. Despite the lack of crispness and thickness of the dough, this is still a really solid, traditional football pizza. Along with being a great neighborhood spot, run by incredibly nice and friendly people, they make very good pizza with potential to be exceptional with a few adjustments.
