In town for my daughter’s graduation (staying at an Airbnb), I checked the One Bite app for a highly rated pizza spot. Dave Portnoy scored this place an 8.8—granted, that was back in 2019, and I’d hope his standards have tightened since. In typical fashion, the rating felt a bit inflated (and I say that as someone originally from Massachusetts, so I get the hometown bias).
Positives: no flop, solid structure, and very much your classic local, football-on-the-TV kind of pizza joint that works for the neighborhood crowd.
That said, the sauce was average, there was a bit too much cheese, and it was slightly underdone. The crust was decent—chewy with a crisp edge, clearly a high-gluten, yeasted dough (think All Trumps-style flour).
Would I go out of my way? Not really—maybe a 15–20 minute drive max.
