This is the spot on Keyser that rotates new restaurants frequently and where a random stranger told me and Adam to jump on Boeing stock years ago (bad call) but I think Pizza Ave has been around longer than most places.
Overused term but legit no flop. Firm crust that’s not quite thin and lighter than football Za right in the middle. The cheese and oils or whatever they put on top are solid, exactly what you’d expect from a NY style. I think it’s a good candidate for extra sauce since the crust is thick enough to support and the flavor isn’t overly robust without it, but not a a big fan of the sauce here which is all that’s holding this back from a bigger score (not bad not great, don’t bother with the extra sauce).
The wings are solid for takeout, mild sauce has a slight sweetness to it which I liked. I opened the container immediately to see if they would keep their crisp but still pretty soft so maybe that’s just how they are. Wish they had a garlic parm for an MPG test but overall I’m a fan.
