Good pie but not 8.9 worthy

25 min drive for a Portnoy 8.9. Good not great, however, I devoured half a pie in my car outside Ralph’s in under 5 min. Sauce good, right amount of cheese grease, crispy undercarriage and crust. Not a big fan of thin pies, which this is. Thin is in with women, but not for pies as far as I’m concerned.

Super thin, nice and well done, amazing crisp, and great sauce. Crazy thing about the crust, it almost tastes like Sicilian but in a super thin form

Liked the pizza, LOVED the place. You don’t get more North Jersey than Ralph’s in Nutley. Tiny takeout Italian place, with an old school guy flinging pies behind the counter. The crisp and crust was 9.0+ level, exactly how you want your pie to feel and look. But the cheese and sauce were a little bland and had me wanting more oomph. Overall good. Worth the visit, but no way is it near an all-time great as Portnoy says.

An old school pizza shop where you can smell the pizza getting made a block away! A smaller slice, but no flop and no run away cheese. Very tasty slice, you can’t have just one.

Overall amazing pizza, crust was crunchy, not too much dough, great consistency, overall great pie, the sauce was very good but not great . Loved the cheese. Highly recommended

Good pizza but 8.9 I don’t know. Got the thin crust but didn’t knock my dick off.

Delicious pizza, the flavor was amazing but a tad bit undercooked for me personally, I would’ve prefer a little more crunchiness but in their defense it was packed and they had a lot going on. Definitely will stop by again, add it to your list

Spectacular!! Thin… crispy, great taste. Got better as the number of slices got lower.

Before coming to Ralph’s I tried out Amore’s pizza down the road where Portnoy gave a 7.9 rating. This pizza was very good. And inside the rest of slices look LEGIT. However, if I’m comparing the two plains slices from each place, I think Amore pizza wins. This pizza could have used a little bit more sauce I think. Cheese was delicious

Took about 45 minutes on a Wednesday night but regardless. I’m the type of person that likes crushed regardless of its thick or tin but the crust here tastes like something out of a pizza box. The cheese however is pretty good

I downloaded this stupid app just to write this review. After respecting “most” of Dave’s reviews as legitimate, I have to say he was either paid off, blackmailed, or smoking crack when he rated this pizza. He got me to drive an hour away for home-made Sbarro’s. The old school vibe of the place is great, staff is was mostly friendly. There is absolutely nothing thin about their thinnest slice. The cheese tastes like ny dollar slice cheese. After having Di Farra’s, to rate this anything 7 and above is extremely generous, 8 and above is borderline insanity. Someone needs to reign Davey boy back in before he renders his reviews as irrelevant entertainment.
