Reggio's Pizza Express - O'Hare Airport

Tasted like it had been sitting there for hours even at 10am. If you wanna try Chicago deep dish, this isn’t worth it even as a quick option.

Stuck at the Chicago airport and this is the only Chicago pizza option around but whatever it counts as my first. This is what you’d expect from express airport pizza, no better no worse. It’s a little dry and clearly just been sitting under a heating lamp for a while. They advertise having Chicago’s famous butter crust which I suppose it is but dry burnt and meh. The cheese has that mass produced, Pizza Hut or Costco pizza vibe but the sauce isn’t bad and compliments the pizza well. Wouldn’t mind having Reggio’s pizza properly in the future but this is nothing more than some carbs to hold you over before your flight.

It's airport pizza so you can't set your sights too high but it's not bad. I would eat it again next time I'm on a layover in O'Hare.

Chicago-style can be hit or miss for me. It can be the best (like Pequods) or it can be the worst. This, albeit airport pizza, is actually somewhere in the middle…and maybe higher end of the middle. The sauce is the reason, no doubt. 🍕🍕🍕

Better than the DC airport

Yaaay time for dopey bread bowl deep dish pizza, but no bias I promise, maybe it’s yummy: The bites farthest away from the crust end totally lack crunch. It’s just to soft and doughy. I can’t believe I’m saying this but the taste is manageable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nothing special but it’s adequate. Sauce a bit snappy and with bigger punch compared to most others. Not my style but at least average. Crust part of bites are crunchy but dough has no taste, important seeing that this is a deep dish dough bomb. Compared to the other slop in Chicago, I don’t hate this. If this was thin and normal ratio easily 6.4, but alas, it’s dumb dopey deep dish.

Chicago O’hare it’s 10am but I’ve been up since 3am so I’m ripe for a pizza review on landing. I know I’m gonna have choices but I only have 40mins so I stop the first police officer I see and ask them where I should go…. Three choices Reggio’s was where they sent me… let’s be realistic if you reviewed anything in an airport it’s over priced and underwhelming. This has the look; if you’ve never had a Chicago deep dish this might even be a good starting point (no sauce on top here) and I’m certain that the Reggio’s pie in the city is much better. I’ve given it a much higher score then most people (except the 10 person but that’s gotta be a joke) My average score is 7.5 and this pizza is absolutely average in every way. For airport pizza, this pie was nice. The sauce made it jump from a 4.9 to 6.7

My stop at the Chicago Airport wouldn’t be complete without pizza. Now I know this isn’t a true Chicago pizza, but I’m rating it anyway. Pizza taste like a Frozen Pizza. Almost like it was just warmed up in the oven. It’s not terrible, but not something I would go out of my way for again.

It’s really not good, only reason it got a 5.1 was because the experience of Chicago pizza

Okay, not good. I would have given this a worse rating, but I had a bite of a pepperoni slice and it had way more sauce than the pie I had, so maybe this one I received is more the anomaly. Either way, it just tastes like a bad frozen pizza that’s a little thicker than what I’m used to.

Was so hyped for some Chicago deep dish and was very let down! Honestly I’m pissed

Terrible. This is a human rights violation. I mean all I can say is that at least it include sauce, cheese, and crust. Also for an added bonus, it was cooked.

No sauce at all in this cheese pie crust. Hard to sell this as pizza

Hoping for a better pizza experience at the airport. Not a bad sauce and the cheese is decent, but wasn’t cooked fresh and the famous butter crust was slightly soggy.

A hybrid of Chicago style butter crust and Pizza Hut
