Ok, “one bite everyone knows the rules.” So I got a traditional cheese slice from Route 66 pizza on the Southeast side of Chicago. First off, thin slice not too doughy and crispy and perfectly cooked at the bottom, which I am a huge fan of. Close to no flop what so ever. The sauce is a sweet sauce and has a nice little tang but is not over powering sweet, which was good because I perfer more savory tasting sauce but it wasn’t bad at all. Very good sauce to cheese ratio. So all in all I have the slice a 7.3, good solid slice, good pizza, will definitely get the job done. Would I travel for it, ehhhh no. But if you’re in the area, definitely a good slice to have.
SIDE NOTE: I also got a slice of sausage and was a little disappointed honestly. It was kinda sloppy, falling apart, crust was under cooked. There was too much going on for such a thin slice. So if you visit “ROUTE” as the locals call it, I would stick with the cheese, it’s 10x better.
