Saint Francis Apizza Review:
Ordered a New Haven style margarita apizza.
A disappointing 6.1. (UPDATED to 5.7– Read on)
Pizza took about 30 minutes after ordering and wasn’t hot at all. Very warm at best. Was hard cold in minutes.
On his own and to his credit, the waiter acknowledged that it took a long time, but given that the pizza was not hot - I think it sat forgotten for some time.
The second slice was warm and the third slice is cold. UGH.
The undercarriage looked like it would have been good had it not sat waiting to be delivered, and as it got colder it got stale. Lousy. No flop at all. By the third slice, I couldn’t fold it without breaking the crust in two.
The crust on the first slice was pretty good. The next several slices just got worse and worse.
What a shame. The flavor was there but eating the third and then fourth and final slice - especially the crust - was like biting into cold burnt dry toast .
Sauce is ok. Again, would have been better if it was served fresh.
I’m completely bummed. This place had glowing recommendations on FB by people encouraging Dave Portnoy to try it.
He would have given a score of 6 or worse. And if he does come here and gets a special hot pie made special for him, then I suppose the average guy just doesn’t matter much.
Based on today’s experience, this is not a go-to pizza. It’s had potential, but that was wasted.
Points lost for slow delivery. Atmosphere is good.

I’d be willing to try this place again - and if I do, I’ll order the same thing and rescore…
UPDATE: I got my bill ($33.96). Handed my card. Got charged for someone else’s table ($44.73). I showed the waiter the original receipt and the charged receipt. The $44.73 was credited.

< 5.9 = Worsening levels of MEH. Gas station heat lamp to school lunch lady pizza. You’ll feel the dead weight in you. Hard pass (pun intended).

Add 0.5 for epic service that can only be done here
