Sal's Pizza Restaurant

I have been coming to Sal's for many years and it's one of the best local places in Danbury. I usually order light cheese & veggie special pies. Pros-Most of the time the slices come out thin, light & crispy. Sauce is solid not too much tang. Overall it's a good solid local pizza spot... not as good as the New Haven Abeetza style pizzas but I would consider it more than just a Football pizza because it's thinner and not as doughy.

1 cheese slice, Noon on a Saturday Pros: It's pizza, so it has that going for it. If hungry, this can be eaten and you'll be good for a bit - but not psyched about it. Cons: Flimsy and floppy, sizeable grease pool, not a lot of flavor or much discernable sauce Verdict: This came from a nice looking, pretty fresh pie. It looked like a solid 7 on the plate, but is hurt by lack of structural integrity and flavor. If I were trapped in a simulation that couldn't quite replicate real life, I'd imagine the pizza would be kind of like this. Flat six, not a rookie score - sometimes that will happen.

Some Danbury foo, even with a thin crust. Not a ton of tang, but a solid football pizza on a Sunday.

Crust has a good crisp. It’s fairly floppy, no drip though. Grease was a little low which is good. Sauce was flavorful.

Lots of flop and grease. Cheese was goey, crust was crispy. It’s an OKAY pizza.

If a football pizza had a slice, this is it. Nothing more....nothing less.
