Pizza Review
🏖🟥BEST BEACH SQUARE ALERT🟥🏖 Jersey Shore communities usually aren’t known for featuring square pizza; aside from the occasional “Grandma Pie,” it’s very rare to find good square slices at the beach. This spot not only serves square pies, but they’re some of the best freshly handmade squares I’ve ever had. Having no real expectations going into the review, I was completely blown away by how unbelievably good this pizza tastes. I’m still completely baffled by how incredibly heavy the box weighed, despite the dough being so amazingly light, airy & fluffy. The pizza box isn’t very big, but it felt like I was carrying a box of bricks. Nonetheless, the dough is delicious, buttery, crispy, firm with phenomenal texture, char and flavor, along with splendidly crunchy crust. This is also an “upside down pie,” with the sauce going on top of the cheese that hugs the dough tightly underneath. All of the ingredients are fantastic with outstanding presentation, definitely a fancier-looking square pie than most. The mozzarella cheese is fresh-tasting, tight, a little stringy, but melds perfectly with the dough. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind a little more, particularly a light dusting atop the sauce; but it’s still terrific as is. The sensational sauce rides above the cheese, with plenty of crushed red tomatoes bursting with flavor. Surprisingly, the sauce isn’t super sweet but it’s got lots of kick and pizzazz, elevating this pie into the upper echelon of great square pizzas. A touch of shaved Parmesan and some fresh basil draw out even more flavor from the sauce as the cherries on top of an already outstanding pie. This is hands down the best Jersey Shore square pizza around and a top 5 square pie I’ve ever eaten. If you’re in Atlantic City and looking for good pizza, this is a must-try, roughly 20 minutes south to Margate City. This pie is absolutely travel-worthy, whether you’re coming from Philly, North Jersey or NYC, especially if you’re a big fan of square pizza.
