Freaking phenomenal, real ingredients, amazing flavor, top notch! We really enjoyed!

The taste was everything it looks like it would be, but it was a little too floppy and doughy for my liking. I would give it another round of I am ever in Austin again.

Great slice! The char from being wood fired adds a lot of flavor. Great crust and crisp. And the sauce adds a level of sweetness. Highly recommend

Portnoy rated it a 7.9 but with the flop I had to give it a a 7.4; this was a sold pizza but it no way a 7.9! Price point is not ideal but for Austin Tx it is reasonable! Multiple bites; everyone knows the rules!

Good crust texture, undercooked on top , honestly no flavor

I got the tomato pie, and the cheese. Two of the best pizzas I’ve ever had and I thought about it for weeks after trying. Super good, every time I go to Austin for the rest of my life I’m going.

I can see what the dry is for this place. The char is great, crisp is great, undercarriage is great. The service was exceptional. For me a pinch of salt would’ve put this probably at 8 or 8.1 and just a little bit more cheese, would’ve probably put it at another few tenths higher as well. It’s in a bizarre place, and you’ve got a walk a little ways to get to it, but it’s worth it. I would definitely recommend it.

The Big Apple in the Lone Star State…say what?! That’s right, if you are looking for a very solid NYC pie while visiting the capital city of Texas, look no further than Sammataro. Great pie that is cooked over a coal fire. One of the 2 best choices in Bat City…highly recommend!

Wow this was awesome

Worth the drive and the wait. Probably 45 minutes once you order. The first thing that hits is the sauce. It’s fantastic. Next, it’s the crust. Crunchy and chewy. The cheese is fresh and the basil is local. Surprised to find a pie this good in Texas.

Nice and light with a perfect under carriage and crust. The sauce is a little bit sweet in a good way. I can’t help but take into account that for what I paid here I could have gotten 3 pizzas at Marco’s. Overall nice but not worth the trip from Georgetown.

First pizza in Texas is a WOW. Dill ranch was fantastic as well

It's some hybrid between an NY slice and Neopolitan. Has a bit of flop. Sauce is really good. A little bit greasy from the drissle on top.

Here is another pizza review. We’re at Sammataro. Great crisp, a little flop, nice char and undercarriage. Sauce has great flavor. Some parts were beyond charred- a little burnt. But overall an excellent pie. 8.2, that’s a review.

Long wait but worth it. We drove an hour to try it and it was great. Fresh, amazing sauce, crust was perfect. The service was great. We ate inside one of the houses. So far the best pizza in Austin area we have found

Coal fired pizza. Absolutely worth a try in Austin, top 3 in the city. Little inconsistent but has a mix of a Neapolitan/ New Haven feel with the char and cheese blend.
