Pizza Review
OK quarantine review time. I’m at Santino’s in Sayreville. Been around since the 70s. I remember when I first was out in Jersey there was a pizza spot in this location so I’m going to assume it’s the same guys. The store front and the sign outside look totally different but who knows. From what I remember years and years ago it was pretty pedestrian maybe a little lower than that. My view may have been skewed because I’m a New Yorker but I have to admit Jersey has been trying to come on strong over the past few years. So onto the review. Pretty basic football pie. I did enjoy the slice. Nice undercarriage nice crisp underneath and no flap. Also no grease. As for the dough it was very light with a nice crisp but not a whole lot of flavor. The cheese was decent probably upper of middle of the road on quality. The sauce is where everyone struggles for me and this is not the same. Very bland sauce. These guys have to learn to kick up the sauce game. It’s not just them it’s the majority of the middle of the road pizza places that I’ve gone to. But all in all it was pretty good. If I was in the area and I was hungry for a slice I would pop in. 7.4 that’s the review
