Sid’s Place : County Route 2 : Brier Hill, NY
Alright, we are rolling into Brier Hill to see if the rumors hold water or if we are just chasing ghosts out here in the county.
A 6.8 is the exact lane for this machine. If you look at the crust, it has that suspiciously uniform, perfect factory radius. It is giving off major pre-made energy, not that beautiful, chaotic, hand-stretched scratch dough that gets those wild, charred volcano bubbles in a blazing oven. It is a total optical illusion, it looks thick and elite, but it chews like a heavy loaf of supermarket white bread rather than a crispy, airy masterpiece.
Now, they absolutely buried this thing in cheese, and they hit it with a heavy snowstorm of green herbs on top to try and dress it up. The pepperoni has a decent little crisp to it, but even a flawless rookie card can't save a bad hobby box. The toppings are trying to do all the heavy lifting, but without that authentic undercarriage structure, the whole operation is playing from behind.
This is the ultimate "sink three cold beers at a wood-paneled tavern while arguing about Sunday point spreads and tournament brackets" pizza. It hits the spot when the lights are low and you're hiding out in Brier Hill, but under the bright lights of pure pizza analytics, the lack of fresh dough keeps it trapped in the high sixes.
Final Score: 6.8
