People working inside couldn’t be friendlier. A little heavy of a pizza for me but the taste was great!

Wow this is a dense slice. It’s like a grandma/square impersonating a standard slice. Doughy! No crunk, but no flop either. Sauce is very good, tangy and a little sweet. Cheese is good too. The place itself is awesome so worth checking out for the nostalgia, but stylistically not my fave type of pizza, hence the score.

A ((THICK)) Slice. Usually I'm not a fan of a thick slice, but this is an exception. Good sauce, excellent under carriage and amazing crust. You can tell they use more of a bread dough, and they season it well. In the heart of "sketchy" Albany- it's a gem, family owned, proud. it's priced well too- for the size of slice you get it's a steal. GO HERE IF YOU'RE HUNGRY FOR PIZZA. Not the place to dabble around and say "Oh, i'm not too hungry let me grab a light cheese slice". No sir. Their subs also look excellent. I don't even think the woman at the register spoke english. 10/10, 8.7.

For the price, it’s a good pie. Doesn’t compete with the big dogs in the area but it’s almost like a higher quality Pizza Hut. Good sauce. Good cheese. A little doughy. Overall strong pizza especially for the price.

Old school authentic Italian pizza and deli operating for over 35 years. Pizza is a bit thicker than I usually like but the sauce and cheese are high quality and really good.

If you’re in the area you have to try this pizza. Absolutely delicious. Some flop and a bit thick, but the fresh sauce and cheese definitely make up for it. They must be doing something right for 35+ years. Bonus rainbow cookies were a bit too.

Tried the Pizza Ripiena 6.8 bc I’d never had stuffed pizza before. Not my style but the flavor was great and the meats quality. Also tried the Italian mix sub which was an 8.1. Average score is 7.5

Bonus review: Go there today, St. Patrick’s Day & get the Reuben Pizza. Very good. Tender corned beef. Otherwise go say hello to Joe & enjoy the famiglia

Is this my 100 th review? Not even sure.. i know im getting close. As for the piiza, not your typical NY Style. It actually reminded me of pizza i’d get in Buffalo NY. Super old school Italian “Mom and Pop Shop” vibe inside. Heard they been open 35 years or something. They got a little baked goods showcase(more on that later), and a Deli with “Boars Head” brand meat. Originally i thought i might give this place a high 7’s, but i think that it was the great service, and the small business old school feel inside that pumped the pizza up in my mind. Its not bad at all though, Albany sucks for pizza. Saratoga has a couple decent spots (Pope’s), but as for Albany, the place has surprising shitty pizza, a few decent spots (Marisa’s La Familia, Prima, Madison’s), but nothing like i thought it would be. This pizza however, i could see myself really enjoying while watching Tom Brady sling the rock for Tampa Bay this year. This is football pizza. The dough is thick and soft yet kind of crispy on bottom. Sauce is very savory, and the cheese isnt greasy at all really. If you live in Albany, and you havent tried this place, you should. BONUS REVIEW! I got a brownie with chopped walnuts on top.. fuckin thing was massive. It was cooked just how i like Brownies, soft, kinda gooey and it had chocolate chips inside, thats a power move.. it was fucking fire. *Kids show* I’m telling you that was a 9.1 brownie all day. Fuck Right.

Pizza review time part two, after I finished up at I Love NY I realized I hadn’t reviewed a long time Albany favorite, Sovrana’s in Lake Ave, just west of Washington Park in the heart of Albany. Very disappointing, while I was for “Ma” to pull my slice from that tiny little re-heater oven in the front corner I perused the wall hangings. There were a bunch of “Best Of” plaques and newspaper clippings, but non after about 2004, most seemed to be about 1998. I think that says a lot. It’s super fought, light, very light on sauce, skimpy on cheese and the slice weighed about a half a pound. Super heavy, there’s a bowling ball in my gut now. That oven turned the crust into cardboard. Not good. I had about 5 bites, it’s drunk pizza at best. There are many wildly high ratings on the app, a couple even in the nines. I can only guess all of the high reviews came way after dark, into the witching hours when your taste buds and pizza awareness are well toasted and incoherent. Just my hunch. This was very bad drunk pizza 5.1, and the 5.1 is high because it holds at least a point for nostalgia and a point for the Sovrana name and shop

Thick but very flavorful - Sauce to cheese ratio was spot on & the crisp YET soft crust was the perfect touch...HIGHLY recommended to stop here for a PIE & PASTRIES 💵💵
