I am falling in love with these pan fried Sicilians but when I heard that one of NEPA’s best was in a bowling alley, my interest was peaked. By leaps and bounds this is the best food you’ll ever come across at a bowling alley and one of the best in this style. Fried in peanut oil the full tray minus the onions explodes with flavor even some cheese caramelization on the edges. There’s a nice crisp to the outer edges and undercarriage with extreme pocketing underneath even to the underside of the cheese. The interior is pillowy like a Detroit style with each cut coming in around the size of a dollar. The sauce again no onions tastes pretty damn good on its own and is abundant unlike some others of this nature but the cheese takes center stage loaded with flavor and stretchy cheese pull, think of what you remember pizza being in the 90s commercials and this is it, for whatever reason this style specific to the region is just so damn satisfying and easy to put away too. There’s tons of specialty trays available including the pagash as well as some of the areas best wings and friendly service that operates almost as its own restaurant with full bar all inside the bowling alley that you could have a blast with after your done eating. Must try NEPA pizza!!!
