The Square on Annadale

Alright Sharkey’s aka Lorenzo’s. So many places try to do the L and B style. Now every place has the upside down. But I think Lorenzo’s does it the best. I don’t know maybe because they stole the recipe from L and B, who the fuck knows. Who the fuck cares. It’s great pizza. It’s one of the best pies aroundddd, what murderrrrrr? Seriously I know the fatties from Staten Island love this style of pizza because it reminds them of their “childhood” boo hoo “my childhood” boo hoo “the paki’s own L and B they are ruining my childhood” wah wah get over it. Anyway if you are simpleton that is amazed by the cheese going on the dough first and then pouring the sauce on, then this square pie is the one to get.

Review 350!!!! First off I gotta say I’m damn impressed with this pie, I don’t think anyone who reviewed it yet gave it a fair chance. If you come here you come for the signature upside down and it checks all the boxes and then some for what this style should be. The foundation has a great crisp underneath and around the edges with a nicely well done undercarriage yet is soft and pillowy on the inside melded seamlessly to the blanket of gooey fresh mozz that their is a healthy amount of. The sauce is the key here tho, there’s a lot of it, it’s sweet and tangy with a nice vibrant color and a touch of oregano to give it some bite. Finally it’s hammered with grated parm that is a perfect match to the sauce creating the ultimate flavor satisfaction. There’s a ton of history with this place that I’m sure many know but my god was this amazing, for sure this is a pizza meant to be had as a whole pie, if your in the area and really hungry this is a must try!!! That’s saying a lot too cuz this little area is loaded with hidden gems!!!

Not bad, not good. Cheese is what lacks here.

The square was just okay. Somewhere in the 6s. My reviews are always based on the regular slice though. This slice looked like Sbarro, but amazingly tasted worse than Sbarro. Actually I couldn't tell you what it tasted like because it had NO flavor. Mama Celeste gives you better quality cheese than what was on this slice.

This really is a crappy version of L&B. Not good.

I personally enjoy it. As long as it’s nice and fresh. Side note: slices heat up nice the next day in a toaster oven

Ok. Nothing amazing

Not a square slice guy so maybe I'm biased but this pizza was not very good. All bread and sauce, and absolutely no cheese.
