Essentially a Mexican joint that for some reason also serves pizza, this place ought to be called “Tio’s” because they specialize in tacos & burritos more so than Italian cuisine. I had zero expectations going into the review, figuring I was in for a generic football pizza; however, this was more along the lines of a cheap-looking NYC dollar slice. Surprisingly thin & light, the dough actually has minimal flop, much firmer than I anticipated. Super soft & devoid of crisp, the dough is also bland, leading to a flavorless & terribly textured crust with a cornmeal consistency. Greasy & generic, the cheese is a pale white shredded mozzarella blend, not particularly creamy or tasty, flooded with salt flavor likely from the excess oil. Aside from the area near the crust, the pie is virtually void of sauce. Thinly smattered & barely detectable, the dearth of sauce leaves this pie struggling to exude much flavor other than the saltiness from the cheese & grease. The thinnish dough is just about the only highlight of this pizza; aside from that, this is a well below average, sub-pedestrian pie. Relatively thin & edible are just about the nicest things I can say for this 6.0 score on the nose pizza. The 5s might be too harsh but this pie doesn’t deserve any rating higher. Pass on the pizza & opt for their Mexican fare if you find yourself here.
