Ungaro Coal-Fired Pizza Cafe

Calling this place underrated is insulting to the underrated. Quietly the best pizza on Staten Island. Better than your Gioves, and your Joe and Pats, and your Bruddas. Nobody’s I talk to ever mentions them. Well I’m gonna mention them. Half signature half regular. The pie is crispy, it’s well done, the sauce is great, the cheese is great. I can’t say enough great things. If you bring this over your boys house for the Super Bowl, his wife should give ya a hand job.

I give their vodka pie 8.7 but the cheese pie is just ok

By far the best pizza I’ve ever had. Crunchy bottom. Perfect sauce. Fresh pepperoni.

I was excited to try Ungaro and the pizza did not disappoint. Sauce was tasty, flavor was great, good crisp and undercarriage. Super quality pizzeria!! I also tried their meatballs in vodka sauce and they were an easy 8.0 as well. They deserve to be in the conversation for best pizza on S.I., right up there with Dough, Brothers, Tony’s, Denino’s Joe and Pat’s, Round Pie Lee’s Tavern. If you are looking for quality pizza give Ungaro a try you will not be disappointed.

BEST SICILIAN PIE IVE HAD!!!! A coal oven thick crust pie has to be tricky but man did he nail it. Great char on outer edges and a good crisp on the undercarriage but the pillowy light goodness is what truly makes this to die for. The sauce is rich vibrant and tangy matched to the grande mozz that has flavor to stand out all on its own. The staff and even customers here are incredible, very well knowledged about their place and proud of their product. Great place inside for a nice little date, inviting atmosphere and plethora of choices but this I had to try and it killed my own expectations. I will be back many times over as this is my now favorite spot on the island!! Maybe square pie in general. This is same sentence equality as Brooklynn square and Davinci. Enough said:)

Nice char but was still floppy. Half traditional half vodka. It was good. The sauce was tangy. The meatballs parm marinara were better. I recommended it which deserves a good score. Wasn’t hit by the time it got here so I can’t 100% judge and the flop takes away points as well.

Crisp; great sauce

This pizza is one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s like you taste the coal from the oven in every bite. I recommend trying their traditional pie. Also the grandma/grandpa pie I was told was their best seller. It’s an 8.9 for me

The new king of Staten Island!! The crust and sauce set this pizza apart from anyone else on SI. Elite 9’s for sure!! And the owners are insanely nice. I’ve only had the traditional coal fire pie so far, but plan to try more of their other pies. Also the meatballs in vodka sauce are 🔥🙌🏻

I prefer thin crust pizza overall so I enjoyed this more than the signature and Bianca. Enjoyed everything about it. Sauce and basil very good. We needed a good coal fired place in the area.

You’re not gonna find coal fired pizza anywhere near the north shore of Staten Island. Super crispy and the sauce is incredible.

As a life long Joe and Pat's and Denino's fan this is the new Pizza King of Staten Island! Get the signature pie. It is INCREDIBLE!!! This is amazinge Coal Fired Pizza and the owners are incredible people! Try this place ASAP! You will NOT be dissapointed!!!

Quality pizza. A little on the soft side though. With that amount of char I expected a little more crisp.
