1 large and 1 medium was the perfect amount for 5 people. The outside pieces were perfectly crispy and find Wells to be probably the best pizza in Wisconsin. Worth the 30ish minutes from Milwaukee.

800 mile pizzadventure to one of the oldest pizzerias in the country!!! Wells Brothers of Racine Wisconsin has over a Century in the books making their signature Tavern style pizza that was once regarded as a top ten pizzeria in the US and is still run by the same family to this day. The Tavern style pizzas are cut in the traditional bite size squares cooked well done. The crust is thin and cracker like, awesome crunch on outer squares and still a nice crisp to the middle, an awesome undercarriage with corn meal and an intense buttery flavor with air pockets all throughout. The sauce has a nice zip to it, tasted like a simmered down sauce and the cheese was incredible with a salty flavor that really just sets the pie off perfect, no surprise as that’s kinda a signature of the Grande cheese which they use. We hammered down two pies with ease both looked and were cooked identical on a Saturday afternoon a true test to the consistency with awesome service and the old school vibes of this place were some of the best we’ve sat down at in the country. Of the pizzas I’ve tried in this style I’d have to give this the nod as the best so far as I don’t think it could’ve been any better than it was. Easily worth the trip from any distance this is one of the best day trips of all time and another spot scratched off my foodie bucketlist. Worthy of the hype of being one of the best in the states.

One of the most unique pizzas I’ve had the pleasure of eating. Best pizza in WI? In the conversation. Best tavern style pie ever? No question, it doesn’t get better. The crust is very unique in how thin it is, but super crispy at the same time. Definitely the thinnest I’ve ever had, and the undercarriage is to die for. The flavor is spectacular and the sauce just hits the spot. Being family owned for 104 years is uber-cool, atmosphere is also amazing. Worth the 2 hr drive, great spot!

This pizza is delicious. Super crispy with the cracker-thin crust. The cheese is good, the sauce isn’t too sweet. The flavor is really good. The crust is thin, no flop. Overall taste is really good.

As close to perfect as you can get for my taste. Very thin, crispy, and excellent sauce and cheese. Sausage was tasty but not overly spicy. Great atmosphere

If you love THIN crust pizza then you’ll love this pizza! The crust is awesome, cheese is fantastic. Only thing “negative” was maybe a little bit too much sauce??? What an institution for being in business for over 100 years!

I’ve been hearing about this place for years and it did not disappoint. The garlic bread consisted of the perfect amount of butter and was grilled to perfection. And the pizza… oh my god… I’m drooling thinking about it. We will be back!
