Angelo's Coal Oven Pizzeria

Was visiting New York on a Wednesday. Decided to stop by Angelo’s since it was close to the hotel. The place had a nice vibe. I grabbed the seat at the bar, ordered a nice Brooklyn logger, which came in a frosted mug. points there for the bartender. Since it was my first time there, I asked a bartender what should I get? He recommended the old-school round as that was the most popular dish. By the way, unless everything on their menu sounded delicious. The pizza came out looking gorgeous. It was solid. A real good pizza and not disappointed. Nice balance of flavors. Nothing overpowering. Is this a pizza that I want to immediately go back to when I’m back in New York? Not really. Still searching for that Wow slice.
