Ridiculous system: cash only, no menus, have put your name and number down hours before your time slot but they don’t call you when the table is ready, so you may have to wait outside in the freezing cold for like a half an hour on top of all of that. That being said, the pizza itself is the best place in NY that is still currently open. The sauce is the star of the show. Could have slightly less flop, slightly more flavor with the base itself, and all around it could be a little tighter. It is tremendous pizza though

So light and easy to eat! Absolutely delicious.

Review #50! Crossed my great white buffalo moozarell off the bucket list today. This place is the Sistine chapel of pizza for me. The oven and the fire in there is better than anything I’ve ever seen. The sauce - perfect amount of sweet and tangy. The cheese - perfect pull and milky taste. The basil - perfect. The dough is what stands out to me the most. Closest I’ve experienced to what you get in Italy but he can still get it so this and airy and crispy. Can’t wait to get back some day. And I got to take a picture with Mark as well. Calzone was tremendous as well and I don’t even like calzones… the sauce too… ooof madone! Drill it! Jack

Drove from Toronto and it was well worth it. Best pizza I ever had. Mark was very nice to us being from Toronto. Went on a Saturday night they had huge lineup but we had a table at 6:00 pm. The crispiness, light airy crust was amazing, sauce was perfect they only bad thing it is 8 hrs away from Toronto. I would definitely invest in a Toronto location.

Just exceptional. John’s of Bleecker was incredible but this beats it. And that’s saying something. We had some pasta that shocked us how good it was. Staff were totally fantastic also.

Finally made it to the coveted and famous Lucali. Got here at 3 waited to 4 to put in a table for 2. Got seated at 5. Ordered one large cheese and one large calzone. To be honest I was underwhelmed. All the hype made it seem like this was going to blow me away but it really didn’t. Granted the crust is nice and thin made in a wood fired brick oven. Nice fresh good quality tomato sauce with what seems like good quality cheese and fresh basil. The flavor was very good but very simple. It didn't hit me in the face like i was expecting. the thing that was missing was a rich flavor you get from good quality cheese to mix in well with the tomatoes and basil. Considering the difficulty to get inside, I would not repeat a visit.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The calzone here puts any other calzone to shame.

Orgasmic. Unbelievable. Fantastic. To die for. I ran out of adjectives to describe this pizza. Perfect in every possible way. The cheese is amazing, the crust if fluffy but light and the tomato sauce is perfectly balanced. Love how they sprinkle the basil on top. But good god, heaven should be more accessible so set up a decent reservation system. Great job Mark!

Was a POTA to queue and wait, and like Dave, its not my style...but you can't help but respect the quality of the pizza. The crisp, the sauce, the cheese, basil etc. Its a superb pizza.

Near perfect. Light and fluffy. You don’t feel too full after eating. But somehow still crispy and has an amazing crunch to it. Best crust I’ve had yet and the sauce is spectacular. Calzone was equally awesome. I could do without the basil but besides that…worth the hype in every way.
