Pizzeria 'Lucci

Eye test - kuhblammo. Awesome. Execution- excellent Ratio - utterly perfect Cheese - perfect in every way Sauce - a hair understated, not a ton of spice but mixes perfectly Dough - I can’t say the taste is special, it’s quite plain. Bake is perfect and it all comes together. Elgar said, “Art can move mountains.” This is neighborhood and travel worthy. Spectacular. No Giants fans please. Out of your price range. And with a three cigarette pack a day habit, your taste buds don’t even work. To reiterate, this is top notch.

This is a must-try, travel-worthy pizza. I’d rank Mike Gallucci pizza right up there with Dan Richer, Mike Fitzick, and Anthony Mangieri (my favorites). The pizza had a perfectly charred undercarriage—thin, firm, light, and crispy. It featured a well-balanced sauce, a nice blend of shredded mozzarella, a sprinkle of pecorino, and a generous handful of fresh basil.

Unbelievable pizza! As good of a pizza as I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of great pizza. Between the flavor, crust and crunch, I don’t know how you can make a pizza better.

Tremendous pizza. I know this score is lower than the average but an 8.3 is damn good pizza. Best I’ve had down the shore.

This is the marinara (ie sans chesse). Light and crispy with just the right amount of char and bright poppin' sauce made from the freshest of (I'm guessing) San Marzano tomatoes. 9+ pie. Heads up though, a bit on the pricey side. Worth the drive and the price. Pizza genius at its pinnacle here.

As beach week draws to an end it wouldn’t have been complete without one last stop on the way home at the new Pizzeria Lucci in Belmar that many say is already amongst the elites of NJ and more. The near social medialess is headed by a familiar name in the pizza game Mike Gallucci that you’d be living under a rock if that didn’t sound familiar. No phones, no slices just amazing artisanal pizza cooked well done as you can see below. The fermented dough is thin, light and airy charred perfect to my liking with a milled tomato sauce, a great blend of mozz and the “lifestyle” topping of choice roni cups. It’s a damn perfect pie that exceeds its hype of one of the best in NJ ignoring any new kid on the block vibes. This place has already cemented itself as one of the greats and created a Lucali like aura minus the hours of waiting but it took Mark years to get there Lucci has exploded in just a few months, do yourself a favor and get here now as it’s sure to be the next destination pizza mecca!!! I also had people asking me after what I thought of the pizza as if I weren’t just some doofus that killed two pies but someone who’s opinion matters, maybe I’m getting somewhere

Honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Never greasy. Always cooked to perfection. The sauce is just right. I even eat the crust which I rarely do at other local spots. It’s hard to beat this.

Phenomenal plain - like if Rosie’s and Ava’s had a baby. Went early in off season and was easy peasy to get this pie. Light as a feather stiff as a board. Highly recco’d.
