Pugsley's Pizza

Love the place. Love the owner. The pizza was fresh out oven but just maybe seemed rushed. Didn't have the flavor to separate itself from the rest of the local places. The cook was solid and good crust. Just needed more of a punch in the sauce. Ratios were good. Could have been better and this pie could have been an outlier based on rest of reviews

Delicious, scrumptious, delectable

This pie is not an 8… but it is sooommeetiimmmeeess an 8. Perhaps it’s the drinks kicking in… as most people (fordham students) order pugz drunk… and it will always slap when you are drunk… and that’s fair. But objectively, it is more consistently a 7. Whatever pie than an 8. Whatever pie. We have established that this pizza is better ordered as a whole pizza than as a slice, so take that advice as you will. Overall, this is your best slice in the fordham area, but that’s about it. No more motivation to come than that.

Idk how Portnoy gave this a 7.7 because This was far from a 7. Doughy, bad sauce just tasted cheap. Really not impressive. I will say I do like the vibe of the place. Otherwise pizza isn’t great at all.

Bottom is crispy and crust is soft. Much better than Full Moon.

Great crunch. Great football pizza. Bronx pizza baby!! Tad greasy, but amazing. Zero flop. Old school!! Sweet sauce!!

Apologies for Dave Portnoy’s voice as my son was watching his video of the place as the owner Sal came out to play Jingle Bells on his sax for the kids. Delicious pizza, super fresh ingredients, but the main reason to go is for the place and the owner - places like this make NYC the city that it is.

Great slice, I’ve been to pugsleys twice now and it is fair to say that they are fairly consistent with their pizza. It has had a good flavor of sauce, minimal grease, delicious cheese, good crust with a slight char. Overall my favorite pizza on Fordham Road.

Cheese slice: decent sauce, although very standard; below-average cheese, but made well; standard dough and decent crisp, but nothing special; could be more crispy, both on bottom and on crust; a satisfying slice, but I wouldn’t say it’s unique or exemplary in any way

Crispy crust good creativity with basil and shake cheese low amount of grease very solid

Good crust, little flop, not too greasy. Just can’t get to over 8
