Sally's Apizza

Very tomato-y pie. Decent flop to it. Crust is great. Definitely recommend the pepperoni. Went on a Saturday and stood in line for a little over an hour. Would recommend ordering pickup, not worth the hour wait.

This pizza was excellent, but just as good as a real NY slice. If you want travel pizza go to Wilkes-Barre PA and try the blue steele fried pizza.

Very good pizza, one of the best I’ve ever had but the wait is not ideal. Waited about an hour outside and almost another hour inside. Great taste on the pizza but crust is a little charred so didn’t eat much of that.

Score is for the plain tomato and mozzarella..... Very good.... Liked the sausage and onion, but a little floppy with extra moisture.... About 2.5 hours all in on a Monday afternoon 🤦🏻‍♀️

Disappointed. Was really excited to try one of Dave’s biggest reviews and was extremely underwhelmed. It was very fresh with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection but the taste was just not there. 7.6.

Good pizza mine could have used another minute in the oven.

Sally's officially has the best New Haven pizza. I don't think it is close.

Tomato Pie > regular

Solid pizza. Very weird that people wait in line for an hour. It’s great by all means, but it’s not excellent.

I ranked my New Haven pizza trip Pepe’s > Modern > Sally’s, which I thought would be the opposite. Sally’s had the tastiest sauce. I think we did it dirty though and let sit in the box for 10-15 mins because we were late coming from Modern. Either that or they had their B team that day with their A team at Portnoy Fest in NYC. Still amazing wheel but I’ll have to go back and dine in.

The best pizza in New Haven - great crispy char flavor. Light and not bad on the stomach. Don’t like to steal all of Portnoys adjectives in describing but he nails this one. Very very good - just not incredible. Top 20 spot but not a top 10.

Half tomato, half cheese. Superb cook, really tasty char. Alternating between the two types of pie kept it interesting! Visiting from UK

Wow! Very disappointing. No crisp more sponge like thin pizza. I cannot believe that Dave rated this a 9.2. This honestly is not above a 3. The place down the road Frank Pepe is MUCH, MUCH better. No chance New Haven is a pizza capital.

Amazing slice well worth the wait, amazing taste and crisp, coal fire is definitely the best!!

First time getting real New Haven pizza and it lived up to the hype. My only critique, and Dave may slap me for saying this, is it was almost too burnt. Some of the crust bites were overpowered by char taste. Otherwise amazing flavor.
