The Heat Pizza (Still Humble Pie)

To be fair they are known for classic Chicago-style deep dish. I ordered the NY Style. Not good. I am pretty sure they ordered Dominos and put it in their box and gave it to me. Super greasy, bland sauce, and crust was brushed with Dominos garlic butter. So crisp at all. Is was like biting into a garlic donut. Maybe their deep dish is way better but that would have to be a big jump.

I like this pizza. Crust is great, it’s what you want in a deep dish. This is what I imagine a Chicago deep dish in OKC to be. Good flavor.

I’m familiar with Chicago style pizza and am going to give an unbiased professional review cause pizza metrics matter. The sauce is adequate, good tang and homemade like, not authentic Italian homemade but adequate, really really adequate. toppings were good. Very cheese-ee and good stretch, very elastic. Crust has no flop and is really off. It is like a pie crust, dry and no chew, like a really really really thick pie crust that you don’t wanna eat. I didn’t eat the edge after trying. But as with pie the innards can mitigate the inadequacy of the crust, tougher deal on pizza. The innards of this talcum powder flour crust are going to help salvage the score. If this was in Chicago I’d have to drop the score lower but in Oklahoma the desert of pizza mediocrity we have to give some hedge way.

Crust has a lovely crunch cheese has a perfect meltiness and the sauce is slightly tangy

My first Chicago style pizza. The cheese has a good flavor and the sauce is amazing. The crust tastes good but it’s not as crisp as I would like. Makes me want to try more Chicago style pizzas.

Slice of cheese. Sweeter sauce than I normally like but seasoned nicely. Seems like a really quality cheese. The crust is kinda on the dryer side but with a buttery flavor. 0 flop. Looking forward to trying more Chicago style pizzas.

Decent crust but it’s a casserole.....this isn’t pizza. This is tomato soup with cheese.
