An absolute must. Vibes were all-time, Sinatra blaring, amazing drinks, great salad and pasta dishes and the PIZZA 😍 Incredible sauce flavor, perfect amount of cheese, ultimate crisp and crust. A few spots extra charred which means the rest is the exact crisp. Half plain red pie, half pepp. Recommendation: go just cheese. The pepperoni was great in flavor but took away from firmness the cheese side had.

Definitely a must try spot. Coal oven pizza from a 100+ year old oven. Table space was tight so I couldn’t get the picture of the full pie. Hit everything I like in a pie. Sweet sauce. Nice char but not too well done that the dough was still a bit soft. Pie was definitely shareable. As good as the classic was, I thought the white pie with garlic was even better. Place is definitely becoming well known, so I would try to get there. Went on a weeknight and got in, but the guy in front said weekends the wait can be up to 2 hours.

With a coal oven from the 1890’s, this spot instantly caught my attention. After now having tried it, I can report that this joint is churning out pies worthy of the historic equipment they excavated from the surrounding building. Great crust (as to be expected from the coal heat), very rich cheese and a solid robust sauce. My only gripes are that the sauce was a bit light (I had a few cheesy bread-esque bites throughout) and I was hoping for the pie to be a bit more well-done (some New Haven mimicry would’ve been welcomed). While these don’t impact the rating, vibes and service were commendable.

Saw UAeats review this place on YouTube and I can just tell looking at the pie it was going to be a real hidden gem. It lived up to my expectations. Best way to describe it is if you took Sally’s of New Haven’s crust combined with the sauce and cheese of John’s of Bleecker St but better. So far, this is the best pizza I’ve had since I started reviewing pies. The prewar coal fired oven really makes that crust stand out, plus the cheese that retains its milkiness and fresh sauce makes it not one to forget. Piece of advice, you should eat this plain or very limited toppings. One side was plain and other side sausage and pepperoni and I think they took it down a notch. Makes the crust too soft. Plain, this is an easy 9 pizza.

Coal oven, almost "New Haven" style pies. Great spot, if you love thin crust pizza. It reminded me of "Modern" in New Haven a bit. Dave is gonna score this one high.

This place will blow up once Dave visits it. I’m from New Haven and this is up there with New Haven. Lighter than it looks. Amazing pizza.

Lucky Charlie’s - a new spot in Brooklyn. Very, very good pizza, overall pretty light. Cheese is phenomenal, sauce a bit tangy but a real good taste to it, cooked incredibly well. One of my favorites I’ve had.

Absolutely phenomenal pie. Light, crispy, chewy, heavy char from the coal oven, everything I love in a pizza. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and the cheese was flavorful as well. Could easily wreck a whole pie by myself. The place is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but is open very late Weds through Sunday. Oh and they don’t have a phone so you’ll have to go in person to order. Get here before this place blows up, you included Prez!

Only open two weeks - this place is making a great pie. They claim the cities oldest coal oven and the crust is a dream. No flop, the perfect crisp and great flavor. I agree with another reviewer that the sauce could use a little sweetness but might be the best pizza I’ve had. The bread service is fantastic as well. Lawn chairs with cup holders out front for those waiting - which they will be in droves in a couple weeks.

The real deal. I guess they just opened but have a coal oven from 1890? Feels like this spot is about to get crowded fast. Served it in an open bag to keep its crispiness. Fantastic coal cooked thin crumbly crust, delightfully light fresh taste, sharp cheese, herby and saucy… I only wish the sauce was sweeter is the only thing. No reviews yet is throwing me off, but I think I’m right here that this place immediately enters the conversation of best in the area. I’m so happy to have 4 completely different dank wheels in my hood in Manos, Lucky Charlie, Decades, and Ops.
